Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine cult.
The questline centers on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with numerous objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime series. The series formerly showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
