Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the area, producing powerful gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Impact
Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred calls for help across the state, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
