The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Had room to drift down the left flank only to be in an offside position upon receiving in front of goal. Granted a well-earned break around the 60-minute point. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in a high position down the right and contributed with the hard yards. Displayed moments of class and dragged an effort wide. Substituted towards the end by a teammate, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s top opening of the first half, his strike excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate hanging back, he was forced to offer an outlet down the right side although his balls from wide areas were hit and miss. Substituted late in the match. Six

The captain The decisive figure scoring seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals in an England shirt. The opener a trademark poacher’s finish and his next an excellent headed goal following a clever run away from the opposition. At 32, his form is unwavering and England stand a real opportunity in future competitions with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Had a presentable chance when set up by the midfielder however Strakosha denied him. His replacement made much more of effect when substituted. 5
